A main route in and out of Newport on the Isle of Wight is due to close this morning (Friday).
The Downs Road is scheduled to shut from 9.30am.
It's due to be closed between its junctions with Newport Shute and Downend Road/Hare and Hounds.
The closure is necessary to allow for Openreach to to carry out 'pole tests'.
A diversion will be in place.
The road is expected to reopen by 3.30pm.
