POLICE are patrolling an area in Ryde on the Isle of Wight following a report of a man approaching a teenage boy.

At around 10.07am yesterday (Wednesday), police were alerted to a suspicious incident in Ryde.

They were told that at around 8.15am, a man had approached a 15-year-old boy and spoke to him briefly on Jellicoe Close.

The teenager was not hurt.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened and whether any offences were committed,” said a spokesperson for the force.

“Members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the area and anyone with any concerns can speak to one of our uniformed officers.”
