Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are investigating a hit-and-run crash which saw two vehicles significantly damaged in Ryde yesterday evening (Wednesday, May 22).

Police were called shortly before 8.30pm to reports that a vehicle had collided with a parked car on Great Preston Road.

The collision involved a silver Honda Civic Type-S and a parked silver Audi A4.

Both vehicles were severely damaged, and a nearby garden fence smashed after a wheel ripped off the Honda during the impact.

A police spokesperson said "the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop at the scene."

According to the GOV.UK vehicle enquiry service, the Honda was uninsured and untaxed.

No injuries have been reported at the current time and officers are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the collision.
