An Isle of Wight man denies threatening a traffic warden with a baseball bat.

At the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 10, Jeremy Gallagher, of Sherbourne Avenue in Ryde, pleaded not guilty to two charges.

Mr Gallagher denied possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and using threatening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence.

The prosecution alleges that the 52-year-old exited his house with a baseball bat and threatened a traffic warden.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place on April 10.

Mr Gallagher was granted unconditional bail ahead of a magistrates’ court trial on August 15.
