THREE Isle of Wight women stole goods to a combined value of more than £500 from the Co-operative.

Amber Banham-Gage, Amber Gagen, and Mazie Bailey appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, May 14.

Gagen, 24, of Green Street, Ryde, admitted ten counts of theft from a shop, in Ryde, between March 20 and April 23.

Banham-Gage, 21, of George Street, Ryde, admitted eight counts of theft from a shop, between March 24 and 29.

Bailey, 21, of Atkinson Drive, Newport, admitted two counts of theft from a shop, in Ryde, on March 20.

Prosecutor, Lauren Stone, said the charges covered a series of shoplifting offences at the Co-operative on West Street in Ryde.

She said the trio entered the store as a group and various items were taken.

Ms Stone said Banham-Gage stole goods to the value of £274.75, Gagen stole goods to the value of £207.45, and Bailey stole goods to the value of £56.45.

Oscar Vincent, defending, said all three were highly vulnerable and living in supported accommodation.

He said all matters before the court were related to supporting and supplying alcohol dependency issues.

He said all three were doing their best to address their issues.

Gagen saw her case adjourned to July 5, so a pre-sentence report could be drawn up, while Banham-Gage saw her case adjourned to June 7.

Both were granted unconditional bail until their respective court dates.

Bailey, who is already serving two community orders, was ordered to pay £56.45 compensation and costs of £28.
