The Isle of Wight's Yarmouth Sea Songs Festival will return for the sixth consecutive year, from Friday, May 24 to Monday, May 27.

Positioned on The Green, opposite Yarmouth Harbour, this free-entry four-day event celebrates maritime music and culture, hosting 32 acts.

Performances, donated freely by both Island and mainland performers, will start at midday on the Friday, concluding early evening each day.

In addition to the main marquee stage, talented acts will also entertain in various Yarmouth pubs throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

Friday's formal opening features local primary school pupils, while numerous stalls retailing food, sweets and ice cream, an Island Ales bar and a children's entertainment area can be enjoyed.

On Monday evening, the festivities draw to a dramatic end with the Fantasia of Sea Songs, scheduled for 4pm, inviting audience participation with canon fire and flag waving during renditions of maritime favourites such as Rule Britannia.

Festival access is free, thanks to supporters including Yarmouth Harbour, Island Brewery and Wightlink.

Collections will be made, supporting the Needles NCI - National Coastwatch, which has previously benefitted from the thousands of pounds raised by the festival.

Car parking is available adjacent to the site.
