Flooding has led to the closure of the Isle of Wight's child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS), in Newport.

A burst pipe is to blame and staff say when they came in this morning, it was "like a swimming pool".

Although Pyle Street building has been temporarily shut to allow for emergency repairs, phone lines are still operational.

A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust said: "All booked appointments will be contacted and rearranged, either by phone, online or at a different venue.

"In regard to prescriptions, please contact CAMHS who can direct you to where your prescription can be collected from."

Calls can be made to (01983) 523602.

It is hoped the building will be back open by midweek.
