A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent after a three car crash on the dual carriageway in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

Medina Way is currently closed while the damaged vehicles are recovered.

Although one man has been taken to hospital as a precaution, no serious injuries have been reported, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has said.

Police said they were called at 11.22am today (Wednesday, April 10).

Three cars, including a red Honda Civic ep3 type-R, were involved in the collision on the southbound carriageway.

Officers have confirmed a 25-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.

A spokesperson said: "We remain at the scene and would ask road users to please avoid the area while the road is cleared."
