POLICE have made an arrest following an attempted break-in at an Isle of Wight recruitment firm this morning (Monday).

At around 9.45am, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to the scene at The Apex in Newport.

They were responding to a report of a man trying to break into Pertemps.

Officers attended, and a 41-year-old man from Yarmouth was arrested on suspicion of common assault and using violence to secure entry into a premises.

He remains in police custody.
