An arrest was made on the Isle of Wight following a police pursuit and an incident involving a knife earlier today (Friday).
At around 2pm, police received a report of a man with a knife at an address on Nelson Road, Newport.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the man left in a silver Vauxhall Tigra and, after a short pursuit, was located at St Nicholas Close.
A 38-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, assault, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of an offensive weapon, failing to stop, and drug driving.
He remains in police custody.
