UPDATE: Latest Isle of Wight ferry cancellations and delays for Friday, April 5

A mechanical issue at its Ryde Pier port is to blame, the company has said.

The entire FastCat service is temporarily suspended.

A spokesperson for WL said: "Customers are advised to travel on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne car ferry service or alternatively transfer to Hovertravel.

"Wightlink tickets, including Multilink and Season ticket passes, will be accepted on all Hoverravel services including the Hover Bus from Southsea to Portsmouth Hard.

"We sincerely apologise for the changes to your travel plans and will keep you updated throughout the morning."

Wightlink has said its FastCat service is expected to resume service at 4.15pm.

"Earlier mechanical issues at Ryde Pier Head are almost repaired", a spokesperson said.
