An Isle of Wight man denies assaulting a woman, said to have been 20 weeks pregnant, on a street in Ventnor.
Nino Cavanagh, of Trinity Road, Ventnor, pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 2.
The 31-year-old is accused of spitting at, punching and lifting a pregnant woman by the throat, as well as allegedly damaging her mobile phone, on Dudley Road, on March 26.
The case was sent to the Isle of Wight Crown Court, for trial on May 7.
Mr Cavanagh was granted conditional bail.
