A REPORT of a yacht in potential trouble in one of the Isle of Wight's most remote areas, sparked a lifeboat search.
Amid concern a boat could be in difficulty in the area of Newtown Creek, Cowes RNLI lifeboat were called out by Solent Coastguard at 11.15pm last night (Tuesday) to carry out a search of the area.
"The emergency was sparked by a report of what appeared to be a light from a vessel in the creek, which suddenly went out," said a Cowes RNLI spokesperson.
