Sandown enjoyed a fireworks spectacular over the Easter weekend.

The Bay lit up to the sights and sounds of the fireworks last night (Saturday) after the planned New Year's Day display was postponed to Easter due to bad weather.

A large crowd lined the Esplanade, and some took vantage points from wider positions such as Culver Down.

The event was organised by Sandown Carnival, who said: "What a fantastic evening! A big thank you to everyone who came along and we hope you had a great time.

"Thanks to all our collectors and stewards, the Trouville Hotel for their continued support and Sandown Pier for their valued sponsorship.

"We also appreciate Sandown Town Council making sure the town’s public toilets remained open for the event."

Sandown Carnival is on July 27.
