A WOMAN accused of causing more than £6,000 worth of damage to various cars on the Isle of Wight – all on the same day – will go before magistrates next month.

The case of Natasha Gower-Crane, of Chadwick Drive, Eaglestone West, Milton Keynes – formerly of Niton – was heard before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, March 22.

The 34-year-old is accused of a long list of criminal damage charges - 11 in total - and they all relate to an incident on October 21 of last year.

Ms Gower-Crane is alleged to have damaged a Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Ranger, Land Rover Defender, two Volkswagen T-ROCs, BMW 320i, Toyota HiAce, Nissan Note, Citroen C4, and a Toyota Avensis.

The damage caused is valued at £6,469.81.

Her case was adjourned to April 4 at the same venue – for a live-link hearing.

On October 21, police were called shortly after 8.30am to reports of a woman damaging several cars with a baseball bat on Chatfield Road.

No injuries were reported, said police, but at least 20 vehicles had been reported as damaged.

The rampage started on Chatfield Road, through Rectory Road, Church Street and down as far as the bus shelter on Blackgang Road.

Residents reported that smashed glass from car windows littered the village's streets, and a big clean-up began, with villagers trying to cover up windows amid heavy rain so the weather didn't cause further damage.
