Some Isle of Wight householders and businesses are without power this morning (Saturday).

An outage was reported at around 7.15am, affected around 18 Newport homes.

SSEN says it is aware of the issue, and aims to have power restored by 11.30am.

The County Press has been told the traffic lights at the top of the Medina Way are not working.

SSEN says the cause of the power cut is a fault on its underground network, and engineers are working to fix the issue.

The only postcode affected by the outage is PO30 5HT.

UPDATE:

Island Roads has confirmed power has been restored and the traffic lights at the junction are working normally again.
