An investigation has been launched after a popular Isle of Wight seafront attraction was allegedly targeted by burglars overnight this week.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 12.20am on Thursday (March 14) to reports of a burglary at Ryde Superbowl.

Officers received reports that individuals had forced entry into the Esplanade Pavilion premises.

A police spokesperson told the County Press that damage had been caused to a window.

It is understood that several bottles of alcohol have been stolen.

Officers are currently carrying out enquiries into the incident, and no arrests have been made at this time.
