Reports of a woman being assaulted in Ryde on the Isle of Wight led to an arrest last night (Wednesday).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to St Johns Hill just after 8pm.
A man allegedly assaulted a woman.
No injuries were reported, police said.
A 42-year-old man from Ryde was arrested on suspicion of assault and being drunk and disorderly.
He has since been released with no further action to be taken.
