UPDATE: This case has since been dismissed (see below)
AN ISLE of Wight man must fork out more than £1,000 in court fees for a motoring offence on the mainland.
The case of Stuart Grundy, of Egypt Hill, Cowes, was heard before Wirral magistrates on Wednesday, January 10.
The 50-year-old was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver, in Merseyside, on November 24 of last year.
The court heard he failed to identify the driver of a BMW, when that driver was suspected of committing an offence.
Grundy was fined £660, and his licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £100 and a £264 surcharge.
A further charge of speeding was dismissed.
UPDATE April 2024: The case against Mr Grundy was brought back before the court and dismissed. The penalty points and all court fines and fees were revoked.
