An Isle of Wight man's indie and retro car football game has been nominated for an award.

Driving Strikers was first released last year on the Sega Dreamcast and Steam.

Luke Benstead, who was born on the Island, said it was the first Dreamcast game to include online play in over 20 years.

The four-player game, which is described as a '2.5D car football extravaganza in a 90s-style', allows cross platform play between Dreamcast and PC.

The Android mobile version of the game boasts a soundtrack from Island musician, George Ryan.

Last week the game was nominated for a Retro World Award at the Debug Indie Game Awards.

They are set to take place in Nottingham on February 2.
