Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of personal items belonging to Isle of Wight footballers — which included a bangle containing the ashes of one player's late father.

As exclusively reported by the County Press, Ventnor Reserves player Adam Clark was playing in an away Island Combination 1 league game for his team against Shanklin Reserves, when thieves targeted his side's changing room.

He was among four players who had items stolen from them, with watches, mobile phones and wallets among the haul.

Most of the items were later recovered, including Adam's wallet, but items in it precious too him — a ring and a silver bangle, which contained some of his late dad's ashes and a lock of his hair — were not found.
