Sandown, Freshwater, Newport, Cowes and Wootton are to host Isle of Wight Covid-19 vaccination clinics this week.

The St Mary’s Hospital-based team is going on the road, to offer winter vaccinations, advice and support.

Health and wellbeing sessions on winter wellness will also offer flu vaccinations and blood pressure checks - and a free hot drink, soup and cake.

Isle of Wight winter wellbeing clinics will be held at:

  • Sandown's Broadway Centre, Monday, January 22, 10.30am to 1.30pm.
  • Freshwater's West Wight Sports Centre, Tuesday, January 23, 10.30am to 2.30pm.
  • Newport's Downside Community Centre, Pan, Wednesday, January 24, 1pm to 4pm.
  • Cowes The Apex at St Faith's Church, Thursday, January 25, 10.30am to 1.30pm.
  • Wootton Community Centre, Monday, January 29, 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

Sue Lightfoot, clinical lead, said: "We know there are some who haven’t had their winter vaccinations, for one reason or another.

"We want to make it as convenient as possible, so we’re pleased to offer a walk-in service for anyone over 16 (and eligible), who still needs to have their first, second or booster vaccinations or this year’s flu jab.

“If getting your vaccinations at a venue nearer to your home, or workplace, is more convenient, come and see us at the health and wellbeing clinics.

"This will be the last chance to get your Covid and flu vaccinations this winter.”
