An historic and well-known Isle of Wight landmark has been restored to its former glory.

Around 120 years after it was first installed, Calbourne's pump canopy has been refurbished.

High Sheriff Dawn Haig-Thomas cut the ribbon to celebrate the completion of the major project.

The original pump wheel vanished a few years ago and Calbourne residents have helped to raise money for a new one.

A replacement was made by company, The Forge, Whippingham.

Funding for the project was also partly provided by the parish council and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The pump itself was manufactured in 1894.

The restoration project was led by builder John Nicholson and his team.

After the opening ceremony, attendees went to Calbourne Sports and Recreation Hall for tea, coffee and cakes.
