An Isle of Wight town centre has recently welcomed a new fine dining restaurant, with an award-winning chef at the helm.

House, in Cowes High Street, opened towards the end of last year.

Jack Anselm and Mim Simpson, who also own Captain Pizza, The Garden and the popular summer and winter garden events at the Island Sailing Club, are behind the new venture.

The pair said the restaurant offers 'intimate fine dining' using locally sourced ingredients and a chef's table dining experience 'like no other'.

There is also an in-house mixologist on hand to serve up cocktails.

The kitchen is run by head chef Matt Egan, formerly of the Royal Hotel, Ventnor.

Matt has won several awards for his culinary skills, including the AA Rosette award.

He said: “It is absolutely imperative we use Island-based products on our menu not only to support local suppliers but to showcase what the island has to offer!

"With our skill and these amazing products, we promise to give you an experience to remember”.

House is open Wednesday to Sunday. Booking is advised.
