An Isle of Wight man is accused of instructing a decoy Facebook account, posing as a 13-year-old girl, to perform sex acts.
Andrew Crossland, 20, of High Street, Newchurch, attended the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 2, charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
It is alleged that in August 2023, Mr Crossland communicated with a decoy account posing as a 13-year-old girl on Facebook.
Mr Crossland entered no plea and will attend the Isle of Wight Crown Court on February 5 for a pre-trial and preparation hearing.
He was granted unconditional bail.
