Coastguard, lifeboat and police teams are currently searching the area of Bembridge beach.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor are assisting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary with an incident in the Bembridge area, HM Coastguard confirmed this morning (Thursday).

The RNLI's inshore lifeboat from Bembridge is supporting.

Police are yet to make a statement.
