A second weather warning for winds has been issued for the Isle of Wight, in the wake of Storm Gerrit.

From tomorrow morning (Saturday), Islanders are told to expect a further spell of strong gusts.

The Met Office has said the Island is 'likely' to see delays to road, rail and ferry transport.

The forecaster's warning will run alongside an alert issued by the Isle of Wight Met Service.

Islander Jamie Russell says the worst of the weather will be between midday and 6pm on Sunday (31).

What to expect (according to the Met Office)

  • It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

The Met Office warning comes into force from 11am tomorrow and will run until 3am on Sunday.
