The freehold investment property at 34 Atherley Road, Shanklin, was among 149 lots listed across southern England and South Wales by Clive Emson Auctioneers.

Rob Marchant, Island auctioneer, said: “There were 35 bids, with the final one of £363,000 coming in at £43,000 above the lower end of the guide price.

“Currently let at £29,220 per annum, with one vacant flat, the gross yield is just over 8per cent, a respectable return.”

A five-bedroom freehold detached house at 59 Staplers Road, Newport, fetched £236,000 in a bidding war.

There were 29 bids, with the final one coming in at £86,000 more than the guide price.

A freehold residential investment at 5 Beech Road, Newport, a two-bedroom bungalow, sold for £94,000.

The property is currently let at £4,160 per annum under the terms of a regulated tenancy.

The sale of Chale Barn, Chale Street, Chale, which had a freehold guide price of £85,000 to £95,000, was postponed.

Also still available is a freehold town centre mixed commercial and residential investment at 38 and 38A High Street, Ventnor, which had a guide price of £200,000-plus and is currently let at £25,299.96 per annum.

A landmark former café at 31 Bath Road, Cowes, at the junction of Bath Road, High Street and Watch House Lane, with three letting rooms on the first and second floors, was guided freehold at £200,000-plus.

Sedum Cottage, a three-bedroom freehold holiday property at Buckbury Lane, Newport, was guided at £200,000 to £220,000.

Nearly four acres of freehold land opposite Elm Yard, Roud Road, Roud, with stabling and mostly grazing, was guided at £115,000 to £125,000.
