Bembridge RNLI is warning us to stay clear of ‘dangerous’ cliffs and has issued some advice following the major landslip in Bonchurch earlier this week.
Assessments are underway into the damage caused by the landslip which claimed much-loved Isle of Wight beauty spot Devil's Chimney, destroyed gardens behind popular Isle of Wight cafe, Smugglers Haven, and forced residents of 20 homes to evacuate.
Around 70 feet of land sank on Sunday night, at around 9.20pm, when part of the cliff behind Smugglers Haven cafe completely collapsed.
Residents who are still affected are being supported by the council, and anyone affected can call the Isle of Wight Council's helpline on 01983 823111.

“Cliffs are dangerous,” said a spokesperson for Bembridge RNLI Water Safety Team.
“Sadly, and inevitably, our cliffs are moving, as we have seen in the local and national news.
“In our local area, the cliffs between Yaverland and Whitecliff are subject to falls, especially at Redcliff.
“The coastal fringe between Whitecliff and Forelands is dangerous because of the deep mud, as is the area around Nodes Point and Priory Bay.
