Injuries have been reported after two separate two-vehicle collisions on main Isle of Wight roads this evening (Thursday, December 7).

Emergency services were first called following a two-car crash on the main road between Newport and Yarmouth (Yarmouth Road/A3054) at 4.48pm.

The collision happened outside Three Gates Farm, near Pound Lane and Underwood Lane.

Police, ambulance and one appliance from Newport Fire Station were sent to the scene.

There is currently a road closure on both sides of the road while emergency teams deal with the incident.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary told the County Press minor injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, another two car-crash is causing delays on the main road between Ryde and Newport.

Police were called at 5.13pm to reports of a two-car collision on Binstead Road in Ryde.

Traffic is moving slowly whilst the vehicles are being moved from the road.

It is advised to avoid the area at this time.

UPDATE: Yarmouth Road and Binstead Road have since been cleared.
