After heavy rain warnings were issued for the Isle of Wight, a flood alert is now in force.

The Environment Agency is warning of flooding on the Eastern Yar and tributaries from Whitwell to Bembridge.

Given today's weather outlook, it said the river will rise throughout the day and is likely to cause widespread flooding of footpaths, tracks, roads and gardens.

There is likely to be more flooding affecting Golf Links Road and Morton Common Road, Sandown, which were only closed the other day.
