A 19-YEAR-OLD man was detained on suspicion of multiple offences, including resisting arrest, following a crash in Nettlestone on the Isle of Wight last night (Thursday).
At around 10.20pm, police responded to concerns raised for the welfare of a man in Chapel Street car park in Newport.
Officers attended, and a man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and two driving offences; namely failing to stop and drink driving.
The driving offences relate to an incident earlier in the day, when police were alerted to a collision on Pondwell Hill, Nettlestone.
They were called in response to reports of a Ford Fiesta crashing into a wall.
The occupants of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The 19-year-old has been released from custody but remains under investigation.
