An Isle of Wight man has been charged with battery and threatening behaviour after an incident in Newport yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, November 15).
Police were called at 5.55pm with reports of a public order incident and assault on Cross Lane, near Howard Close.
It is alleged that a man was making threats before pushing another man.
Following police enquiries, Duane Sibbick, of Cross Lane, has been charged with battery and two counts of using threatening or abusive words/behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence.
The 49-year-old was bailed with conditions to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on December 19.
