This series of photos, primarily contributed by local residents, shows some of the recent land movement in Bonchurch.

The lower village and cliffs down to the sea have suffered some land movement following the recent wet weather.

Also in the bad weather, a wall collapsed opposite the church on Bonchurch Shute, and trees fell into the picturesque village pond.

Worse affected are the footpaths, with a huge swath of walkways now closed off by the Isle of Wight Council. The council confirmed to the County Press that it was due to "land slippage".

The paths include the coastal path route (V66) between Bonchurch and Luccombe.

The section includes the junction of V66 and Bonchurch Shute, the path between V65b and V67 junction, the path between V65c and Leeson Road, and the path between V65a and V65 junction.

An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will be reviewing the areas to assess length of closures."

Devil's Chimney, near Smugglers Haven Tea Rooms, has been closed for a few months already.
