The Isle of Wight's Osborne House went from former royal residence to scene of an emergency rescue today (Tuesday)... but not all was at it seems.
Firefighters from across the Island descended on the English Heritage site.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service crews from Newport, Ryde and East Cowes were at the former home of Queen Victoria.
Their attendance was not unexpected, however. It formed part of a pre-planned, joint training exercise.
Firefighters with breathing apparatus carried out a search and rescue in the iconic house's Durbar Wing.
The exercise saw three casualties trapped on the first floor and 'rescued'.
Afterwards, Osborne staff and firefighters carried out a salvage of historical items within the house and safely removed them.
Posting on social media, Friends of East Cowes Fire Station said it was "a good joint exercise."
