A man is to due to appear before Isle of Wight Crown Court on December 6, charged in connection with a serious assault in Sandown.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary was called to the High Street at around 5pm on Sunday, November 5.
Officers investigated reports a man had been punched, kicked and stamped on.
A man aged in his 40s was was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening.
A search was carried out and an arrest was made in Queens Road.
Kevin Lee Williams, 35, of Osborne Road in Shanklin, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was remanded in custody and appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates today (Tuesday, November 7).
