Ryde Chorus is to present an evening of Baroque music, from the period that brought us Johann Sebastian Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.

The Baroque period, 1600 to 1750, was a time of great change in art, literature and particularly music, with some of the most famous and best loved composers alive at this time.

The choir will present Vivaldi’s Credo in G accompanied by local guest soloists and
musicians.

Choral music by Monteverdi, Buxterhude, J.S. Bach and Handel will also be
performed.

This concert is the first in a developing collaboration between All Saints Church, Ryde, and Ryde Chorus.

The concert is on Saturday, November 25, at 7pm. Refreshments will be available during the interval.

Further events are planned at the church, the second being a people’s performance of Handel’s Messiah on December 12.

Tickets are £10, available on the door or from www.ticketsource.co.uk/rydechorus

Ryde Chorus was formed in 1992 and attracts members from all over the Isle of Wight. The choir performs several concerts a year, some with instrumentalists, some with guest soloists and professional musicians.

The choir occasionally joins, or is joined by other choral groups, for performances of larger works.
