An Isle of Wight woman who attacked police officers while armed with a knife has seen her sentencing moved to next month.

Megan Lily Startin, of no fixed abode, attended the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday, November 1, after previously pleading guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and possession of a bladed article.

Tim Devlin, prosecuting, said the 32-year-old assaulted two police officers while in possession of a locking knife outside a block of flats on Green Street in Ryde on May 14.

Mr Devlin told the court Startin failed to attend her pre-sentence report appointments with the probation service, ordered on September 26 after her guilty plea, and the report has not been completed.

Jim Osborne, defending, said his client is currently experiencing some serious personal issues, and she is currently without a phone or a fixed address.

Judge Richard Shepherd put the case back five weeks to allow for the completion of the pre-sentence report, with Startin bailed until her new sentencing date on December 6.
