WITH more rain falling across the Isle of Wight throughout today (Saturday), another flood warning has been issued by the Environment Agency.

The latest warning is for Cowes, East Cowes and Newport, and it is the third flood warning now active for the Isle of Wight

The other two warnings are for Sandown, Brading and Bembridge, and for Whitwell, Wroxall, Langbridge and Alverstone.

These two relate to the Eastern Yar, and there is also a flood alert still active for the Isle of Wight coast.

“Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions,” said a spokesperson for the Environment Agency.

“Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water.

“Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have.”

It comes after a yellow weather warning for rain was issued for the Isle of Wight and South East England.

The Met Office warning is active now, and runs until 6am on Sunday.

It is just days after severe flooding affected hundreds of homes and businesses across the Island.
