An Isle of Wight village has welcomed the arrival of a new Thai restaurant.

Thai Journey Restaurant has opened at Essex Cottage, in the heart of Godshill.

The County Press first revealed plans for the new business last month (September).

A licencing application was posted in the window of the Grade 2 listed building.

Based on the High Street, it had been empty since Woods Kitchen closed in May, last year.

Woods Kitchen first opened back in August, 2018, taking over from what was The Essex Cottage Restaurant.

A post on Tuesday (10) confirmed Thai Journey Restaurant is now up and running, alongside its new website.

It promises a 'contemporary take on authentic Thai cuisine.'

It is open every day of the week, other than Mondays and lunchtimes on Tuesdays.
