Heavy traffic is causing backlogs and standstills on all the main routes into Newport this morning (Monday).
Southern Vectis has advised of delays of up to 20 minutes on all routes from Fairlee Road and Staplers Road.
A spokersperson posted on X/Twitter: "Congestion coming into Newport, along Fairlee Road and Staplers Road, is causing delays across the network of up to 20 minutes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Traffic is also heavy on Long Lane, where some drivers have been turning around in frustratation, Medina Way, and Blackwater Road.
The slip road near Lidl is also currently closed, and could remain closed all week.
