After years apart, two popular Isle of Wight pubs are back under the same ownership, with exciting plans to enhance popularity.

After achieving a successful year at Brading's The Bugle Inn, Daniel and Jasmine Ashley-Walker have purchased Caulkheads in Sandown from the Character Inns Group, which ran it for eight years - managed by Reece and Lizzee.

With no radical changes in mind for Caulkheads, Dan and Jas want to work alongside Reece, Lizzee and their team already in place at the popular family dining landmark.

They aim to work together to enhance its popularity and make it a 'destination pub'.

Dan said: “Jas and I want to continue to make Caulkheads a thriving family pub, and we are grateful for all the support we have received so far with the passing of this baton.”

They want to carry on all the charity work that Reece and Lizzee have invested in, supported by numerous Island communities and businesses, and preserve the community hub that the Caulkheads has become, continuing to offer support for Islanders.

Throughout their hospitality careers, Dan and Jas have always been strong advocates in supporting Island suppliers and will be introducing their ever-popular Sunday roast carvery partnership with Caulkhead's homemade, stone-baked pizzas and traditional pub classics.

Dan and Jas said: “With special thanks to our Island suppliers, the teams at The Bugle and Caulkheads and especially the local support from our Island customers.

“We are looking forward to working with Reece, Lizzee and the team in making the Caulkheads a ‘destination landmark’ for Island families and locals alike.”

Caulkheads has always specialised in looking after the younger ones, boasting an indoor soft play and outside play area, a pirate ship bouncy castle and a silent cinema.

The Caulkheads will be closed from Monday (October 2) until Thursday (October 5), when it will reopen at 11am.
