AN ISLE of Wight woman has been handed a hefty fine, after failing to identify a Volkswagen driver suspected of a motoring offence.

Karen Buckle, of Seaview Lane, Nettlestone, appeared before magistrates in Cheltenham, on September 13, for sentencing.

The 66-year-old appeared via video link and admitted failing to give a driver's information, on August 18.

A speeding charge, relating to an alleged incident on Binstead Road in Ryde, on July 14, was withdrawn.

Buckle was fined £384 and her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

She was ordered to pay costs of £110, and a £154 surcharge.
