Islanders will join dog owners from all over the world in walking their greyhounds today (Sunday, September 24).

This year's Great Greyhound Globe Walk aims to raise awareness and showcase the breed.

On the Island, the dogs and their owners will gather at Puckpool Park from 11am.

The team at Wight Track, a family-run business from Kent, will be bringing eight of their hounds to the walk.

Staff at the kennels look for owners for retired Greyhounds. Over the years, they have successfuly rehomed more than 100 of the dogs on the Island.

A spokesperson said: "Please try and join us on this grand event, meet some gorgeous hounds and chat with their new adopters."
