An Isle of Wight man denies threatening a police officer with an axe on board his houseboat in Wootton last year.
Richard Lamonte, of New Road, Wootton, pleaded not guilty to threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a private place at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, August 15.
It is alleged the 48-year-old threatened a police officer with a kindling axe at 3am on November 24, 2022, while on board a houseboat.
Lamonte will appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for trial on September 18 and was granted unconditional bail.
