Today (Saturday) is the last chance for Isle of Wight writers and poets to enter The Paul Cave Prize for Literature.

The competition, established in 2023 by Tim Saunders Publications, is in memory of Paul Astley Cave-Browne-Cave, an inspirational magazine and book publisher.

Paul was always keen to help those who had the drive and determination to succeed, which is what this prize is all about.

The prize invites Islanders to submit poetry up to 30 lines, flash fiction up to 300 words, short stories up to 1,000 words and novellas up to 10,000 words.

Winners of each category will take home a cash prize, with the best novella securing £100, the best short story £50, the best poem £25 and the best flash fiction £25.

Successful entries will also receive a complimentary copy of The Paul Cave Prize for Literature 2023 book.

Entries for The Paul Cave Prize for Literature close later today and winners will be announced on October 30.
