Storm Antoni has put paid to day one of popular Isle of Wight event, the Chale Show, today (Saturday).

Motorbike and quad shows, sheepdog and duck displays and live bands are on the programme for the two day event.

Due to the weather, they should instead return tomorrow, as planned.

Organisers told the Isle of Wight County Press they were not able to allow anyone on the site today (Saturday, August 5).

Both local and national weather warnings for wind have been issued, with the Isle of Wight narrowly missing an amber wind warning and thunderstorm warning.

Organisers said a better outlook for tomorrow means the show should be on as planned and its social media will be kept updated.

Last year, The Chale Show donated £27,000 to local and national charities, as well as supporting local causes and nurturing Island horticulture.
