WHEN you are out and about around the Isle of Wight this coming week, be sure to know which roadworks to avoid.

Thanks to Island Roads, we have provided a handy selection of some worth avoiding.

NEWCHURCH: Kern Lane will be shut for utility works, along its entire length, from 8am on Monday until Friday, August 25.
Also, Langbridge will be closed for carriageway repair works, along its entire length, on Monday.

NEWPORT: Clarence Road will be shut for utility works, between its junctions with Heath Close and Medina Avenue, from 8am on Monday until 6pm on Friday, August 11.
Also, St Georges Lane will be shut for carriageway repair works, along its entire length, between Wednesday and Friday, August 11.
Cooper Road will also be shut for carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Cooper Path and Atkinson Drive, during the same time period.

SHORWELL: Paddock Close will be shut for utility works, along its entire length, between 8am on Tuesday and 4pm on Tuesday, August 15.
Also, Dungewood Lane will be closed for ditching works, along its entire length, between Wednesday and Friday, August 11.

SHANKLIN: Wilton Park Road will be shut for utility works, between a point 50m north and south of its junction with Clarence Road, between 8am on Wednesday and 5pm on Thursday.

ROOKLEY: Chequers Inn Road will be shut for carriageway repair works, between its junctions with Bagwich Lane and Southview, between Tuesday and Thursday.

WHITWELL: Southford Lane will be shut for pedestrian barrier repair works, along its entire length, between Monday and Wednesday.

SANDOWN: Leed Street will be shut for utility works, between its junctions with Broadway and Grafton Street, from 8am on Monday until 5pm on Wednesday.

GODSHILL: Merstone Lane will be shut for utility works, between its junctions with Main Road in Rookley and Arreton bridleway 35, from 8am on Monday until 5pm on Monday, August 14.

VENTNOR: Alpine Road will be shut for carriageway repair works, along its entire length, between Monday and Tuesday.
