BRITISH armed forces veterans on the Isle of Wight will benefit from the fundraising efforts of BAE Systems staff thanks to their recent family fun day.

There was anything from the challenge of riding the bucking rodeo bull and penalty shoot-outs, to basketball shooting and throwing (inflatable) axes at a target at the company's Cowes site.

Also featured was the 'Run Around Quiz', the 'Radar Stakes’ horse racing challenge and raffle.

In all, more than £800 was raised for armed forces veterans on the Island — targeting the Veteran’s Hotel and hub in Ryde, a pub that supports British Armed Forces charities.
