The Isle of Wight will welcome Europe’s largest shoe retailer to Newport later this year, bringing new job opportunities to Islanders.

Stepping into the former H&M site on South Street, which closed in February, Deichmann anticipates opening its new store in October.

The site will undergo a £400,000 investment and aims to showcase a customer-friendly layout, with all its stock available on the shop floor so customers can easily locate and try on the style and size of their choice – without waiting for assistance.

The company frequently collaborates with A-list stars, including Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Halle Berry and Nova Chiu, bringing exclusive collections to its customers.

Deichmann also stocks a full range of men’s and children’s shoes, as well as unique and exclusive brands such as Adidas, Fila, Nike and Skechers.

These come with a price promise, ensuring that customers are refunded the difference if they find an identical pair of branded shoes in any UK high street or online retailer.

Currently, the closest Deichmann store is found in Portsmouth's Cascades Shopping Centre.

The Newport store is currently recruiting 15 new members of staff in a variety of positions, from store assistants to shop supervisors.

The footwear giant will host recruitment days at Newport’s Job Centre on Staplers Road on August 15 and 16.
